Ilex Madame Briot is an impressive purple stemmed female holly. The dark green spiny evergreen leaves are heavily margined in bold golden yellow, and in the presence of a nearby male pollinator it will berry bright red. Extremely hardy, this can grow into a large shrub/small tree, unless controlled, but it takes many years to reach it's eventual full size. Will grow in most conditions in sun or partial shade.
