This is a dwarf form of Aruncus doicus, commonly known as Goat's Beard. It is well suited to the smaller garden, where the usual form might be too large. It forms a frothy mound of delicately-cut, ferny leaves similar to Astilbe. Taller beet-red stems hold open and airy plumes of ivory-white flowers in early summer. Wonderful in partial shade. A great addition to the perennial border, mixed containers or woodland. Likes moist, but not water logged soil of any type, and will grow up to 75cm tall and 50cm wide. A lovely, lovely plant.
