Agapanthus 'Brilliant Blue is a striking and extremely floriferous variety which is also more dwarf than most others, giving a very neat all round appearance. The familiar globes of trumpet shaped Royal Blue flowers are adorned with a central stripe of deeper blue ane are held on shorter than average stems giving an overall height of about 50cm or so. A mature plant can produce 100 flower heads in a season, if regularly deadheaded, and as the flowers are popular for indoor flower arrangements the more you cut the more you get. The leaves are green and straplike, and this variety is great in both pots and the flower bed, where they make a spactacular show, especially when en masse. Like a fertile, dryish soil, especially in winter, when the crowns should be protected and pots wrapped in colder areas. May be evergreen in mild winters. Disliked by rabbits, but attractive to pollinators, but please dont eat as they may be toxic to humans and pets.
