Helleborus orientalis 'Double Ellen Pink'

Hellebores love semi shade and damp but well drained soil, and their foliage is attractive for most of the year, being semi evergreen in most winters, but it is from mid winter to mid spring when they are at their finest, because this is when their beautiful flowers appear.  'Pretty Ellen Pink' is a double petalled variety in a soft pink, with some freckling in a darker shade.  The flowers are good for pollinators, and also have a slight fragrance.  Even after the colour fades many hellebores hold onto the dried up flowers for months into summer.  Tidy up tattered foliage in early spring as the new leaves appear.  This variety has a flowering height of c 35cm, and glossy dark green deeply toothed leaves.
