An RHS AGM award-winner, these onions are hardy and easy to grow. A reliable and resilient vegetable, once harvested, they store well, so can be enjoyed over a long period.
Centurion are fully hardy and will tolerate most soil conditions but for best results use moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Plant onion sets approximately 15cm apart in rows 30cm aparts with the tips protruding slightly. Firm the soil around them to ensure adequate support. Upon maturity, lift the onions (normally in August) and allow them to dry before using.
