Dahlias will complement a variety of outdoor locations. Varying in height, these summer blooms are great for beds, borders or containers. Once completely developed, Dahlias also make attractive cut flowers. They thrive in rich soil with good drainage but are resilient to most soil types. Water well but avoid waterlogging. After flowering, lift bulbs and store in in a frost-free dry compost until the following year, or, in milder climates, they may remain the ground concealed with a mulch during the colder winter months.
